Learn about the organizations behind this event! Running Chicken (http://runningchicken.org/) Running Chicken partners with communities to kick-start development projects that are identified, designed, and owned by the people they serve. Our mission is to provide support and resources so that grassroots innovations for community improvement can be tested, developed, implemented, and ultimately shared with other organizations in similar contexts. We currently work in Rural Kenya and Rwanda.
The Educators Institute for Human Rights (http://www.eihr.org/) The Educators' Institute for Human Rights (EIHR) provides on the ground teacher training in countries recovering from genocide or mass conflict. It is our goal to provide teachers with specialized tools in human rights and genocide prevention education, empowering them to raise a more tolerant generation of students, and create watchdogs for humanity throughout their communities. EIHR currently works in Africa and Eastern Europe, and is expanding to Southeast Asia in 2016. EIHR is also partnering with a Rwandan refugee camp to provide educational support to schools in 2016.
